St Elizabeth's College Christmas Cruise

The college learners had volunteered to maintain the garden area by pruning and grass cutting and to make the area look attractive by making and planting containers. They are also learning about canal boat art as they have been asked to use their creative skills to decorate the new reception area in canal boat style.

As a result of all their hard work, the college learners were invited to join some of the other volunteers from the Project on a Christmas cruise.

Viv Farrar and Sarah Inwood wrote the following report:-

"We had a picnic and we had lots of cakes. We helped open the lock gates, we helped tie up the boats and Michelle had a go at steering the boat. When we went through the gates the water went down and up again. The sun was shining but it was freezing with lots of frost everywhere. Kate and Tom laughed and talked and Ashley pressed the horn, it made us all jump. We had a really great time."
