Volunteering Opportunities

Volunteers who have taken up the volunteering opportunities offered by the Canal Boat ProjectWe are a 'not for profit' organisation and we could not operate without a loyal group of volunteers. We are always searching for new volunteers, whether that is to skipper or crew the boats; helping out with administration; lending a hand at the many events we are involved in or maintaining the boats. There is something for everyone and the work is very rewarding.

For canal boat skippers and crew we provide full training free of charge and in return would expect that you are able to commit at least 10 (mutually convenient) days or part days per year.

So if you are interested in getting involved complete the form below and someone will be in touch. However, depending on the type of volunteering you are wishing to be involved in you may have to live within easy reach of Harlow, so bear this in mind when considering how you may get involved. Or if you prefer phone 01279 424444 or come along to one of the events.

Thank you to all those who have volunteered using this web site. We have suspended the recruitment of volunteers who wish to become skipper and crew apart from those who currently have experience, or those that also have another skill they would be willing to use, as we enough people to meet our current needs undergoing training. However, if you have experience please still contact us. If you are still interested in becoming involved please choose an alternative opportunity below or visit this web site again in the future. We would particularly welcome people with disabilities or from diverse backgrounds to be part of our team.
